M-four, Manchester city council's in-house creative agency, has designed the invites and a promotional campaign for the opening of the National Football Museum in Manchester.

The invites are an instantly recognisable icon of the modern game - red and yellow cards - which tell guests they have been 'booked' for the occasion.

The museum opens its doors in the Urbis building on Friday (6 July) after being relocated from its previous home at Preston's Deepdale Stadium.

Designer Craig Green said: "The brief was really open; we had to create something beautiful and memorable; an invite that would capture the attention of its recipients – heroes of the game, past and present."
