Yahoo’s interim CEO Ross Levinsohn has done a deal with radio giant Clear Channel which sees the channel’s iHeartRadio streamed across the Yahoo Media Network - and makes audio versions of Yahoo’s original video content available through Clear Channel.

Yahoo . . . moving swiftly on

Levinsohn is "going hard on beefing up Yahoo’s content,"says Adweek. Prior to Clear Channel, he’s hammered out content distribution deals with CNBC and the digital music streaming service Spotify.

But the Clear Channel is the biggest yet and will likely enhance his chances of making the top job his own. Levinsohn was credited with initiating the deal by Clear Channel CEO Bob Pittman.

In exchange for iHeartRadio’s 1,000-plus radio stations, Yahoo will bring to Clear Channel Yahoo Music's 167 million monthly users. The multi-year deal is for the US only.

Will Yahoo get a cut of Clear Channel’s revenue from ads delivered via iHeartRadio? No-one was saying.

But Yahoo and Clear Channel will collaborate on streaming dozens of concerts, including the iHeartRadio Music Festival.
