Gumtree has announced that it will launch its Android app in Autumn, after it today hit a million downloads on the iPhone version which launched in February.

Like the iPhone version, the Android app will be free and allow users to search the ads, create favourite lists and contact sellers.

Hamish Stone, head of marketing at Gumtree.com, said: “We have been blown-away by the positive response to our iPhone app. To hit one million downloads in such a short space of time is a huge achievement for Gumtree. With so many of us living our lives on-the-go, this app has allowed iPhone users to enjoy a great Gumtree search experience - no matter where they are.”
