Advertising stalwart Billy Mawhinney has joined Big Communications as part of a deal which sees Big acquire his agency Quorum.

The former Faulds, Euro RSCG and BJL creative director will now become the Leicester agency's creative director.

He ran Quorum with former Euro RSCG global creative director, Simon Collins, who will work with Big as a creative consultant. Quorum client Quorn will move to Big.

Dylan Bogg, Big's CEO, said: “Billy and I have known each other for years and the opportunity to acquire Quorum was certainly a timely conversation.

"Billy is one of the most awarded creative heads in the business, and we look forward to him joining our team and helping us to develop the company and achieve the next phase of growth.”

Mawhinney previously had a spell in the Midlands as acting executive creative director at McCann Erickson.
