WPP in talks with major London digital agency as it looks set to continue international acquisition spree

WPP looks set to continue its international digital acquisition spree and is understood to be in advanced negotiations to take over a major London digital shop.

The Drum understands that the deal, which could be completed in the coming weeks, will see one of London’s leading agencies join the Possible Worldwide fold, should it go ahead.

The impending deal follows that of Russian agency Grape LLC, which last week saw Possible acquire a majority stake in the business.

WPP would not comment on when asked about the deal nor would the agency that is apparently in talks.

Other digital investments made by WPP this year have also included $1.2 million for a minority stake in Enprecis, the acquisition of Seattle based Crowdverb, Carnation Internet Tanácsadó Zrt in Hungary, EffectiveUI in Denver and Chinese social media research company CIC.

As the deal is currently unconfirmed, The Drum has decided not to name the agency in question.
