Motorola has won an injunction against the sale of Microsoft products, the Xbox 360 and software systems Windows 7, Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player in Germany.

The injunction follows a patent infringement ruling won by Motorola against Microsoft, over two patents around H.264 video compression technology.

This could see Microsoft forced o recall and destroy these products should the injunction be enforced by Motorola.

"We are pleased that the Mannheim Court found that Microsoft products infringe Motorola Mobility's intellectual property. As a path forward, we remain open to resolving this matter. Fair compensation is all that we have been seeking for our intellectual property,” a statement from Motorola read.

The appeal in Germany is expected to be appealed by Microsoft.
