An advert for Virgin Media, featuring former Doctor Who actor David Tennant, is under fire from the BBC, which is said to have asked for the campaign to be stopped for cashing in on the corporation’s long running science fiction programme.

According to Mirror Online, the BBC has asked for the campaign to be scrapped, claiming that it is ‘cashing in’ on Doctor Who.

The advert, which began last week, is promoting Virgin’s on-demand service, and features for Time-Lord Tennant alongside Sir Richard Branson, while inviting viewers to ‘Follow the Doctor and his sidekick as they go on more time-travelling adventures’.
