DIY chain B&Q has announced that it is to give householders an additional helping hand this Easter with the launch of a dedicated Youtube channel from which its staff will dispense help and advice to DIYers.

The bank holidays are traditionally a boom time for home improvements but with many of these projects running into difficulty it can be a frustrating process. Hoping to alleviate that B&Q are taking to social media channels help out.

The “You Can Do it” channel, developed by Dare, features B&Q’s resident experts dispensing helpful tips, tying in with a TV advertising campaign in which people say “I did that” by offering “How Do I” answers.

These campaigns will be paralleled on Facebook and Twitter with people encouraged to tweet queries using the hashtag #howdoi and celebrate successes with #ididthat.

B&Qs experts will be on hand to answer questions in real time from April 6 to 9th, the only outlet for advice on Easter Sunday when all stores in England and Wales are legally required to close.
