Glazing supplier CR Smith has announced that it is to reboot its successful 1980’s campaign, The Man in the Blue and White Van, to sponsor national weather reports on STV.

The campaign first hit TV screens back in 1988 and was credited with starting a trend for distinct branding on corporate vehicles.

Updating the theme for today’s audiences the firm have opted for an animated version of the CR Smith joiner van.

Ian Macfarlane, Managing Director at CR Smith said: "The Man in the Blue and White Van has always epitomised everything we stand for - a friendly face, reliability, a caring attitude and good
quality workmanship - and we are delighted with the results.

"By reviving The Man in the Blue and White Van, we are giving new life to an old favourite and much loved campaign, which is still looked on with affection by customers and staff alike. The 2012 version is another distinctive approach. It is fun and refocuses attention on the quality of our service and the difference our products make to customers' homes throughout Scotland."
