Housebuilder Shepherd Homes has appointed GDA to handle its full-service marketing and digital account following a pitch.

The Drum understands that GDA beat off competition from fuse8 in a final pitch to win the account. The Barnsley-based agency replaces incumbent Advertising Works.

GDA will now get to work on a marketing strategy involving press, direct marketing, SEO and pay-per-click, e-marketing, outdoor, PR and print activity.

It has already begun developing the new Shepherd Homes website.

Mark Connors, managing director at Shepherd Homes, said: "We wanted an agency that could help us to fully integrate our marketing operation online as well as offline, and GDA clearly demonstrated how their experience will deliver this to the benefit of the Shepherd business."

GDA, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this Sunday, has recruited Louise Tutt to manage the account. Tutt has previously worked on the Barratt and David Wilson housebuilding accounts.
