Salmond pledges social enterprises support
Alex Salmond has used a platform at the world’s largest social enterprise event, the Social Enterprise Exchange, to pledge government support toward the International Network of Street papers and Homeless World Cup.
Both enterprises, based in Scotland, will gain access to a government fund to expand their operations and encourage other enterprises to set up shop in Scotland.
Salmond said “The announcement today of an annual programme to support global social enterprises to be headquartered in Scotland is a world first and a strong message of support for the Third Sector from Scottish Ministers.”
