Mobile Money Network has appointed Hosein Moghaddas as chief business officer, where he will be responsible for driving sales and merchants take-up of the company’s instant mobile checkout service Simply Tap.

Moghaddas joins from GSI Commerce, an eBay Inc company where he was managing director and vice president for its international division, encompassing Europe and Asia.

He said: “Mobile is the most exciting commerce opportunity at the moment and I wanted to join an organisation that offers merchants something genuinely compelling. Simply Tap is the only solution I’m aware of that is truly multichannel – instore, social commerce, outdoor sites, newspapers, ecommerce and in app purchases – the list of touch points for retailers to engage customers and convert sales is endless. The growth potential for MMN is enormous and I’m looking forward to getting started and working with brands and retailers to showcase the business potential.”

John Milliken, managing director of Mobile Money Network, said: “Hosein joins us at an exciting time for the company. Earlier this month we were the first organisation in the UK to enable consumers to buy products using innovative image recognition technology. Furthermore, Visa Europe has just announced it’s taking a 15% stake in our business and we continue to make progress in engaging UK retailers to use our service enabling their customers to buy products across multiple channels. Hosein has an enviable track record of achieving exponential revenue growth and we’re very pleased to have him on board.”
