City of Edinburgh Council is to tender for a contract to produce and deliver a range of services around the city’s activities for next Christmas.

The council will seek applications for the production and management of a range of services including the design, co-ordination and delivery of next year’s Christmas programme of activities, events, attractions and celebrations to attract visitors to Edinburgh.

The successful candidate will be appointed to handle the creative elements of the deliver, as well as communication and control aspects, acting as the central point to drive activities associated with Christmas in Edinburgh, while developing and delivering the programme, sponsorship and marketing.

Two year’s ago the cost of the event was £660,000, although the council has said that the budget will remain capped at £200,000, with the supplier required to generate income.

The dual stage tender will be open for applications until 11 January 2012, through the Public Scotland web portal, with invitations to tender set to be sent out on 18 January and an estimated award date set of 5 March 2012.
