Chelsea Clinton has begun a new life as a TV presenter after making her debut appearance on NBC, the American network, to present a pre-recorded interview on child poverty in Arkansas.

The short news piece depicted Clinton making cornbread for children as well as interviewing the founder of a local children’s charity.

Annette Dove, founder of Topps, told the Telegraph: “She was very professional, very prepared. You can tell that she is very smart. I am very proud of her. I think she did an outstanding job. She made our organisation really shine.”

Chelsea will be working as a special correspondent for the networks’ ‘Make a Difference’ series for three months – following in the footsteps of Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of George W Bush, who works for the Today show.
