Young Scot has launched an online rewards platform with Storm ID, with young people able to collect points by taking part in a variety of positive activities.

After taking part in the activities - which include volunteering, contributing to consultations or participating in opportunities around sport, health, arts and the environment – users can access exclusive offers and special deals such as free driving lessons with BSM or swimming with sharks at Deep Sea World.

The Rewards platform also allows users to share achievements and rewards via Facebook and Twitter to raise awareness and participation.

Storm ID worked with Young Scot to implement a ‘user-centred’ design process whereby hundreds of young people were involved in consultations and focus groups for the new website.

Mike Cashin, project manager, said: “The Rewards platform is a unique system developed to allow young people in Scotland to gain recognition for positive behaviour and contributing to their communities.

“Young Scot approached us with a complex concept and the challenge for Storm was to develop a solution that realised this – both from a technical point of view but also through the user interface and experience which was for a very distinct audience.

“The end result is a bespoke system developed from the ground up that caters specifically for the audience intended to use it.”
