Leeds agency Numiko has created a Twitter app for the E4 website that charts who's hot and who's not in new reality show Desperate Scousewives.

The Tweet-O-Meter app at E4.com tracks mentions of each of the characters' Twitter usernames by pulling in the latest 500 tweets every 30 seconds.

Caricatures of the lead characters then grow or shrink depending on their popularity.

Thom Gulseven, online producer for entertainment at E4, said: “Twitter is a hotbed for chatter around constructed reality shows, and since the cast of Scousewives are all big tweeters in their own right, it made perfect sense for us to capitalise on this activity.

"Our Numiko app takes the real-time stats around the ‘talkability’ of each cast member and presents it back to the audience in the slightly tongue-in-cheek, irreverent way that we love at E4.com. It’s a great way of tracking the discussion during the episode."
