Apple's dominance of the tablet market is expected to continue beyond next year, says Enders Analysis.

The analysis firm has commented that it believes that it expects the firm’s ‘dominance’ in the tablet sector to continue potentially beyond 2012, having announced that its annual revenue had grown by 66% in the last year, with a 40% increase in gross margins, despite sales of iPhones dipping to 17m ahead of the launch of Ios5.

40m iPads have been sold, raking in $20.3bn in revenue for Apple, says Enders, will 11m in the last quarter.

In contrast, rival companies have sold around 4m.

Meanwhile, the company sold 12m iPhones this year in comparison to 40m sold leading up to September 2010, while more Androids were sold, with Google apparently activating 150, in the last year, and 55m in the last quarter.

4M Apple iPhone 4s were sold in just three days however, making $2.6bn, in comparison to Google’s annual mobile revenue of $2.5bn.
