Bowel Cancer UK has launched a new website with Innovation Digital, which aims to act as a communication platform.

The new website (link in 'related links' box on the right) will provide information and support, raising awareness of campaigns and events and educating people about bowel cancer, as well as aiming to increase the number of online donations and encourage audiences to take part in fundraising activities and events.

Zoe Kelleher, digital director at Innovation Digital, said: “It was a pleasure to work with such an important UK charity. Putting their users at the heart of our development process and working from the outside in was central to the success of this project.

“The solution was built with scalability in mind and we are looking forward to working in partnership with Bowel Cancer UK going forward and to continue to develop the website in line with the organisation’s and users’ requirements.”

The website was developed using a leading open source content management system (CMS) Umbraco and was produced within a very tight timeframe, and encourages user engagement through social media websites such as YouTube, Twitter and Facebook.

Deborah Alsina, CEO of Bowel Cancer UK, said: “We chose Innovation Digital for their breadth of knowledge and creativity which meant we were very confident in their ability to understand what we wanted from a new website. The fresh look of the site together with our new brand will help us to reach many more people who may be affected by bowel cancer. We are delighted with the results.”
