An animated TV campaign to promote tea brand Twinings has broken over the weekend.
Created by AMV BBDO, the £5m campaign first aired during Saturday night’s episode of The X Factor, with a social media competition running alongside, offering the first 50 people to pass on the advert through Twitter, a year’s supply of tea.
The campaign includes the message ‘Gets You Back to You’ and will target a female consumer audience.

beautiful animation/song choice, but i did find it fairly odd
beautiful
Excellent animation..depressing song..don't understand it!
Echo that. Great animation, but boring as hell.
Beautiful but depressing. Not sure what they're trying to achieve here?

Nice animation but have to agree it is terribly depressing.
Would be more suited to a born again christian appeal I think.
Are all tea drinkers multiple personality types then? Get the schizophrenics on double expresso, that'll put you both to rights.
Thought it was some ad for Samaritans when i first saw it.
What's not to understand about the line 'Gets you back to you'? No wonder the industry's in such a mess if the comments on this thread are any indication of the IQs of the people working in it. Lovely, if slightly unpredictable ad.
9.39..alright smart arse..explain the creative rationale please?

It de-stresses you, returning you to the person you really are. Makes perfect sense to me. I quite like it.
I absolutely hate this, and I am female/target audience. Could easily have been for funerals..
I'd like to offer some deeply intellectual response to how the creative doesn't quite change perception or behaviour. But, in all honesty..I think the ad is crap.
Thanks for stepping in there Phil. Anonymous 9:39 here. That's 'Anonymous About-Nine-Forty' for the slow-witted ones of you out there.
Yeah great it makes sense...it's still shit/depressing/boring. Did a planner make this ad?

Then again, I quite like the new Tetley stuff. And the PG Tips one with the eagle. And, come to think of it, I liked the old Yorkshire Tea ads with John Shuttleworth. Maybe I just like tea?

would have to agree it is very maudlin, depressing, and slow
My missus loves it.
