Diabetes UK launches iPhone app
Diabetes UK has launched an iPhone and iPod Touch app to help users get a better idea about what might be affecting their blood glucose levels.

The Diabetes UK Tracker app lets users store glucose, blood pressure and blood fat data to help recognise patterns. They can then save specific records as 'talking points' to use as reminders for healthcare appointments.
Libby Dowling, Diabetes UK clinical advisor, said: "Diabetes UK Clinical Advisor, Libby Dowling, said: “Tracking information to manage diabetes can be an overwhelming task. Blood glucose levels, insulin and carbohydrates are just some of the factors that need to be considered on a daily basis.
"The Diabetes UK Tracker app is aimed at helping people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes[1] better manage their condition and is an example of how technology can help people with diabetes minimise the risk of complications. It is designed to be quick and simple to use, taking the daily chore out of logging levels.”
The app was created with digital agency Public Zone. Its managing director, Jonathan Simmons, said: "Diabetes UK commissioned us to work on a concept for an iPhone app that would be genuinely useful to people with diabetes.
"Through listening to charity’s active online communities on Facebook and Twitter, we were able to develop an app with a visual interface that can help inspire people with diabetes to manage and track their condition wherever and whenever they choose.”
The free app can be downloaded through the iTunes store.
