Al Gore slip up confirms expectations of dual October iPhone launch
Apple board member and former US vice President Al Gore has let slip that Apple are planning to launch two new versions of its popular iPhone next month.
Speaking in South Africa Gore was recorded by Stuff magazine editor Toby Shapstak saying: “new iPhones (plural) [are] coming out next month. That was a plug."
It is the first official indication that a mid-market version of the iPhone 4 will be launched to target the colossal Chinese market – in addition to the anticipated iPhone 5.
It will be the first major product launch by the firm since Tim Cook replaced Steve Jobs as Apple boss.
