Virgin Trains is launching a new 1950s-style integrated campaign today with Elvis to advertise its Birmingham to London service.

The consumer-focussed ‘Fly Virgin Trains’ campaign centres on the speed of the train between Birmingham and London, and will run across digital and static outdoor, press, eCRM and social media, including escalator advertising and Facebook activation.

Martin Semmens, Elvis CEO,said: “We are delighted to be delivering another provocative campaign for Virgin Trains, based around a typically Virgin consumer-focused insight that customers want to spend less time travelling and more time at their destination. I think ‘Fly Virgin Trains’ does this so well through the stunning creative work and compelling strategy.”

Annerie Hughes, Virgin Trains head of marketing, said: “The new ‘Fly Virgin Trains’ campaign brings to life the speed at which you can travel between Birmingham and London. The illustrated route harks back to the growth of commercial air travel and the 1950s – a time when the whole world suddenly became more accessible.

“In a similar way the speed and frequency of the Virgin Trains’ service brings the UK’s two largest cities closer for both business and leisure purposes. The campaign drives awareness that Virgin Trains is the fastest way to travel between Birmingham and London.”
