Everything Everywhere today implemented a new mobile TV delivery platform to serve live streaming video content to its existing customers, powered by Red Bee Media’s RedPlayer.
The platform will stream live content from over 40 channels such as ITV1, ITV2, Eurosport, ITN News, Sky News, Sky Sports 1, CNN and National Geographic.
The new platform will allow tablet users to access and view the service for the very first time and will deliver video content optimised by handset to ensure a high quality viewing experience at all times.
The service will also seamlessly integrate with wi-fi, allowing consumers the choice of connecting via 3G and wi-fi to view content.
Paul Jevons, director of products at Everything Everywhere, said: “We’re evolving our mobile TV service to ensure we offer our customers a best in class viewing experience.
The new delivery platform is just the start, and we have several significant developments planned for our service over the next 12 months which will really transform the way consumers view mobile TV.
We’ll also be looking at new technologies as they become available, including the ability to stream 3D content to handsets with 3D capable screens – so our customers will only continue to receive the best services we are able to offer them.”
Bill Patrizio, CEO of Red Bee Media, said: “This is an important new business win for Red Bee Media that demonstrates our ability to deliver an industry-leading, multi-platform offering using our RedPlayer solution set for a leading content rights holder.
“We’re excited to be at the very forefront of this evolution and are proud to work with Everything Everywhere, our first RedPlayer customer, as the enabler to their next generation mobile TV service.”
