London expects to see a very quick recovery following the riots, its tourism body has said.

Promotional organisation London & Partners, which oversees the tourism marketing for the city, has said that it has yet to implement a response strategy to the riots and consider the effects that it will have upon its reputation as one of the world’s most popular tourism destinations.

In response to The Drum’s query as to how it aimed to limit the impact of the riots on London’s reputation as a destination, a spokesperson at London & Partners said: "It is currently too early to anticipate the effect on tourism but we are monitoring the situation and we will work with the industry to respond to specific issues as they arise. Past experience tells us that London recovers very quickly from such events and we will focus on recovery activity as soon as it is viable to do so."
