The Liberal Democrats have appointed PR specialist Collette Dunkley to help attract women to the party.

Dunkley’s focus is on attracting women, and it is expected that she has been hired to help boost the party’s falling poll ratings.

Nick Clegg is expected to insist that the party is listening to the concerns of women, following some complaints that women are being hit the worst by the coalition.

Sheila Gilmore, the Labour MP for Edinburgh East, told the Herald: “No amount of expensive PR, nice speeches and clever soundbites will change the fact that the Coalition’s cuts hit women significantly harder than men.”
