3G Communications has appointed Ross Hayman to launch and run a new office in Cumbria.

Hayman, formerly head of UK media relations at energy company National Grid, will be expected to position the public relations consultancy to support the growing number of energy and infrastructure projects across the North of England.

3G already has offices in London, Bristol, Ipswich and the Midlands, providing stakeholder communications for major clients developing energy, transport and construction projects.

Claire Gordon, 3G’s managing director, said: “Ross will provide a significant boost to our media relations capability in this sector, especially for major energy and infrastructure projects requiring intensive pre-application consultation with the public and stakeholders.

“Our clients will benefit from his thorough understanding of the planning process and his effective communication of complex messages to communities and stakeholders.”
