Paul Bainsfair has today taken over as IPA director general, following Hamish Pringle’s departure.

Bainsfair said: “It seems a long time ago that my appointment was announced as the new DG at The IPA. Today, August 1st, sees me officially take over the reins from Hamish.

“I have been shadowing Hamish for the last two months and this has given me a wonderful opportunity to study the inner and outer workings of The IPA. Hamish leaves the place in fine shape and it is a great pleasure to be now leading this smooth running organisation.

“New leadership presents the opportunity for reevaluation however, and I have started to form a view of how we can further improve the services we bring to our members. I will be sharing and discussing my directional thoughts with the senior team here very soon with a view to developing a fuller plan which we will begin to implement and share with the membership and the wider world over the coming months.”

Hamish Pringle previously held the role of director general for 10 years.
