The Social Buzz Awards kicks its blog off today with a question. If social media is about long term relationships, where do short term campaigns fit in?

From international experts like Chris Brogan and Brian Solis to the Scots like Mike McGrail (and his penguin), Allan Barr, Kelly Forbes, Ewan Spence, Scott Douglas, Andrew Burnett and many others (including experts down south like Kate Matlock and Andy Barr), we hear that social media is about the relationship.

Now relationships are ongoing, take time to develop and can be full of ups and downs, but the emphasis is on the ongoing. It’s not a short-term thing, which is what a campaign normally is. So the question is this – is social media about the relationship or the campaign. Is there room for both?

You can comment here or at the blog itself.
