UK marketing communications group, Communisis has revealed that some of its 122 employees from Orchestra Bristol will be made redundant.

The announcement follows Communisis buying the Bristol-based marketing company out of administration in June.

However, according to the South West Insider, a number of jobs will be cut following a Communisis cost-saving exercise.

Communisis has refuse to state how many of Orchestra’s workforce will be made redundant.

Orchestra’s primary contract is with BBC contractor, Proximity London, for the marketing communication and transactional mailing based around UK TV licences.

This contract has been taken over by £193m-turnover Communisis with four years left to run and has an estimated sales value of £4.5m per year.

In Communisis' interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2011, the group said the second phase of its restructuring programme and the redundancies at OB were expected to result in an exceptional charge of £2.8m. But the company said it expected to make annual savings of more than £2m when the changes fully implemented.
