An identity and animation to promote arts-science project Palaces, a sculpture which uses thousands of milk teeth donated by the public, has been created.

The sculpture, by artist Gina Czarnecki, has been created with the aim of growing over time to form a structure of crystal resin, similar to a stalagmite, which will be encrusted with thousands of milk teeth which have been donated by children from all around the world.

Design by Day was briefed to create an animation which would encourage children and adults to part with their milk teeth and also attract funding to build the structure. Smiling Wolf designed the branding meanwhile.

The animation follows the journey of a milk tooth through a fairy tale world, and presents how it avoids perils and pitfalls along the way.
