LoveFilm, the DVD and online video rental company owned by Amazon, is to add 40 new employees to its London team in order to develop its digital download section.

The online streaming section of the company launched in March last year as part of its move to embrace the internet-demand.

Simon Calver, chief executive of LoveFilm, told the Guardian: “Following Amazon's acquisition of LoveFilm we have created around 40 jobs at our London office, half of which are in the technology and digital sphere.”

These jobs will add to the team of 168 staff which are already employed at the London offices of LoveFilm.
