News Corp withdraws offer to drop Sky News for BSkyB bid
News Corp has withdrawn its offer to sell Sky News as part of its bid to take over BSkyB.
Previously, the company agreed to sell Sky News in order to stop a media monopoly being created.
It is thought that the offer was dropped because News of the World has closed, and therefore the corporation has already lost a media outlet. However, if the Sun on Sunday rumours are true, it is unclear if this will make the bid more or less successful.
According to the Press Association, News Corp have said they will engage with the Competition Commission instead.
