PlayStation 4 rumours played down
Grapevine rustlings that Sony are preparing a fourth iteration of their popular PlayStation videogame console have been dismissed by experts as far-fetched.
The rumours appeared on DigiTimes, a respected technology news site, which stated that the device would start production at the end of the year for release some time in 2012.
The upgraded model is rumoured to incorporate some form of Kinect inspired “body movement based control”.
Analysts point out that the PlayStation 3 has only just begun to turn a profit - a foolhardy juncture in which to chuck the model in the bin when there is scope for Sony to recoup some of their massive losses on production of the black plastic box.
Sony also have their hands full preparing their PlayStation Vita – successor to the PlayStation Portable, which goes on sale later this year.
