After the news that Jane Norman has gone into administration, Edinburgh Woollen Mill is to buy the brand and 31 stores, although 35 are to close.

Retail Week has reported that a “transitional services agreement” has been reached between Edinburgh Woollen Mill (EWM) and administrators Zolfo Cooper about 28 more shops. EWM will buy the stock from all 94 stores and concessions.

The Jane Norman concession stands in Debenhams department stores will continue to trade, and a sale of them may be agreed.

Alastair Beveridge, a partner from Zolfo Coopers, said that at least 366 jobs have been saved from the EWM sale.
