BBC Scotland has begun to advertise for a new head of drama following the departure of Anne Mensah last month.

Applications for the role must be submitted by the end of this week, with a relocation package on offer.

The advert states that the successful application will provide ‘creative leadership, editorial ambition and breakthrough ideas’ to grow the Scottish drama offering for the BBC.

This will primarily focus on developing drama through its in-house department, for a 9pm BBC1 slot.

The role will also include developing and growing the in-house base, working with the Drama department and other production departments, as well as the indepdent sector and other creative services.

Mensah left BBC Scotland last month to take up the position of head of drama for BSkyB.
