IPC Media has appointed Kevin Heery as digital technology director, replacing Kelly Waters who is emigrating to Australia.

Heery joined IPC in April 2001 as technical and production manager on nme.com. He is currently the digital director for IPC Inspire, the company's men's magazines division.

From 8 September Heery will be responsible for all product development and digital technology at the publisher, leading an 80-strong team and reporting to digital director Neil Robinson.

Robinson said: "Kevin has had great success in his IPC career, most notably in his work with NME.com, Nuts.co.uk and, more recently, Mousebreaker and Feelgood games.

"His advice and knowledge have influenced so many of IPC’s digital developments and I am delighted that he will be working more closely with me and the IPC Media Board in future.”
