iPhone 5 rumoured for September launch
Apple’s keenly followed iPhone lineage could welcome its latest arrival in September after fan sites quoted sources who claimed the device was in the final testing stages with a September launch being “the current plan”.
A September window would fit with Apple’s prior form of announcing upgrades to its iPod range in the autumnal month – crucial to the Christmas sales build up, an opportunity which would also dovetail nicely with the launch of the fifth iteration of the firm’s operating system.
The rumours follow Apple’s surprise decision to pre-announce the software launch ahead of its Worldwide Developers Conference, a move which some speculated may have been intended to allow developers time to upgrade their apps ahead of the launch.
Fevered speculation presently surrounds whether the new gadget will comprise an all new design or simply be a slightly nippier version of the iPhone 4.
