Former senior Blue Marlin staff members have launched a new branding agency which aims to help brands find a new way of interacting with audiences.

Aesop has launched with former executive creative director for Blue Marlin Martin Grimer taking on the same role within the new company while Roger Hart, former UK managing director of Blue Martin will be CEO.

Ed Woodcock will be strategy director while Jim Paterson is commercial director working alongside a team of 30 to offer integrated services.

Hart said: “Aesop will not operate like a traditional creative agency. We intend to break the mould in terms of how we help our clients develop and tell their brand stories. The industry is ready for a new approach and the real benefit to clients is more coherent and effective brand activity across channels, and more cost-effective co-ordination of brand stakeholders, which includes different departments, or partner agencies.”

The agency already has a client list that includes Alex James, GSK, Ribena, Shell, LJ Group, Soap and Glory, Newcastle Brown Ale, Salamanca Capital, Wellesley and others that have yet to be revealed.
