Readers' Digest UK chief executive David Titmuss has quit the publisher after only six months.

News of his departure comes in the same week that Reader's Digest unveiled its significantly redesigned magazine, featuring new columnists Donal MacIntyre, Martha Lane Fox and Conor McNicholas.

A spokesperson told The Guardian: "We can confirm that David Titmuss has left Reader's Digest to pursue other interests. His successor will be appointed in due course."

Titmuss, a former Bank of Scotland marketing director, joined Reader's Digest to replace Chris Spratling, who left in July 2010. After losing two chief execs in less than a year the publisher will now have to start searching again.
