Visual effects and animation studio Mi has picked up two former employees of Bizarre Creations, the Liverpool video games giant which closed in February.

Adam Dickinson, a lead artist at Bizzare Creations, has joined Manchester-based Mi to work on game engine technology and animation.

During his decade in the industry Dickinson has worked on games franchises including Need for Speed, Battlefield, Blur and James Bond.

Ami Langton, the PR and community manager at Bizarre Creations, has taken up the post of studio manager at Mi.

Mi's managing director, Tony Hartley-Denton, said: "The loss of Bizarre Creations was sad, and could result in some good people having to leave the region.

"We're just happy to be able to offer employment and keep very talented people in the North."
