Can Media Group in Lancashire has avoided administration after being sold to Live It and Learn Limited.

The deal, agreed for an undisclosed sum and achieved by restructuring and turnaround firm MCR, spares 85 employees from redundancy.

Preston-based Can is a community television company which has screens in 1600 doctors surgeries and more than 600 schools.

MCR partner Philip Duffy said: "The problems effecting the Group has been attributed to the reduction in public sector spending due to the change of government which accounted for a significant percentage of the Group turnover.

"However, we are very pleased to report a successful sale of the Group and that 85 employees have been saved from redundancy.”
