Rugby's Super League is on the hunt for a new sponsor after Engage Mutual Assurance decided not to renew its deal after the end of this season.

The competition has been known as the Engage Super League for seven years but the mutual has opted not to continue beyond the end of this season following "a strategic review".

Super League is the most watched domestic competition on Sky outside of football and its European chairman Richard Lewis said it was already in talks with potential new sponsors.

“We are in dialogue with a number of potential companies and will conclude a partnership in the next few months that will enhance our sponsorship portfolio," Lewis said.

“Super League is a fantastic, vibrant competition that is the pinnacle of Rugby League across Europe and the competition offers a great platform to showcase a brand to an international audience."

Engage will continue to sponsor Super League until this season ends in October. Rugby bosses will hope to have a replacement lined up before the next campaign gets underway in February 2012.
