Glasgow design agency Front Page Design has developed a 3D training programme for RCL Cruises, which is being rolled out in twelve languages following unprecedented success in the UK and Ireland.

The 3D training programme is for travel agents selling cruises from RCL Cruises, the parent company for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises, which aims to bring the onboard experience to life.

The programme includes 3D environments of ship locations, including open air parks, grass lawns and onboard promenades featuring bars, shops and restaurants, with camera angles that explore different views.

Jackie Arnott-Raymond, account director at Front Page Design, commented that RCL Cruises was keen to maintain its market position with a programme that was more interactive and engaging than its competitors’. She added: “The best thing you can do for a travel agent is to bring them on board a ship, but it isn’t always possible, so the next best thing is to bring the onboard experience to life in a virtual environment that gives a real sense of life at sea”.

The programme is also being expanded from six foreign languages – Canadian French, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese – to twelve with the addition of Japanese, Korean, Russian, French, Italian and German to allow the new training programme to be rolled out internationally.
