Press Awards 2011: The Guardian named newspaper of the year
The Guardian has been named as Newspaper of the Year at the 2011 Press Awards.
The newspapers coverage of Wikileaks releasing diplomatic information, and its handling of the situation, of which it was the newspaper partner, came in for special mention by the judges in awarding the newspaper.
