Former 20:20 and Inbox DMG managing director, Matt Ramsay, and former Carlson Marketing head of interactive, Dan Hirons, have today announced the launch of their new digital agency, Activation.

The Bristol-based agency is seeking to position itself as a “digital activation” specialist, working with consumer and retail clients on their digital marketing strategy and digital communications.

“With our experience in this area we have learnt FMCG, consumer and retail brands need sector experts to make the most of the increasing importance of digital communications to drive activation for their brands, and we bring together these expert skills and knowledge in a focused, specialist agency,” said Ramsay.

“We have a strong core team with proven creative and strategic credentials with FMCG and consumer brands, and we also have a strong network of specialist partners to call on to ensure we always have the right skills for any particular project.”

Ramsay and Hirons have worked together previously, at E3, where Hirons was creative director. Together they have experience of working on brands such as Orange, Guinness, Nestlé, United Biscuits, P&G and Peugeot/Citroen.

“I have lived in Bristol for 10 years and during that time the digital industry has changed and it is currently ready for a new kind of agency,” explained Ramsay.

“We’re not looking to offer a full-service agency; what we provide is a focused service that seeks to change the way consumers behave.”
