Drinks producer Halewood International is set to launch a search for the UK’s favourite Chinese restaurant, through its beer brand Tsingtao.

The company has tasked PR consultancy Chapman Poole Communications and retained digital agency Mojofuel to work with the brand on two campaigns this year, including one to establish the Tsingtao Legacy of Taste competition, which aims to find the UK’s favourite Chinese restaurant.

James Wright, international sales and marketing manager for Halewood International, commented: “2011 is an important year for the Tsingtao brand, as we look to not only strengthen relationships with the trade, but also widen Tsingtao’s appeal among consumers. We’re making a significant investment this year to support our strategy of growing distribution and sales in the UK and beyond.”

Agatha Chapman-Poole, owner, Chapman-Poole Communications, added: “Chinese brands are a hot media topic and Tsingtao has a loyal following, this is a great opportunity to herald Tsingtao as a prime contender in the premium world beers category.”

The competition is set to be fronted by TV chef Ching-He Huang and is expected to be announced in either in May or June.
