Recently bankrupted Liverpudlian videogame developer Bizarre Creations is to reform as Lucid Games Ltd after former managers and employees of the studio decided to start again from scratch.

The team are now in process of searching for artists, designers and programmers for the venture, which could create up to 50 jobs, pending ongoing discussions with publishers.

The BAFTA award winning studio created Geometry Wars, Blur and the Project Gotham racing series under their previous guise

Pete Wallace, managing director of the studio said: "With the great history of Bizarre behind us, we are proud to be part of Lucid and are committed to the UK game development community.

“We plan to build a studio which encourages open communication with its partners, customers and other developers."

Bizarre folded earlier in the year after its parent company, Activision's, encountered difficulties in the global marketplace
