Domino’s continues digital promotion of Spanish Sizzler with QR codes
As part of the ongoing digital promotion of its Spanish Sizzler pizza, Domino’s has launched a campaign centred on mobile QR (quick response) codes embedded within ‘outdoor’ video game environments.
Running across mobile, online gaming platforms and Facebook, the QR codes are integrated into non-clickable in-game banner ads and are activated when users scan the codes with their mobile phones - enabling them to order a pizza from Domino’s e-commerce site.
QR codes will also feature in print ads in The Sun, News of the World, The Mirror, The Star and Metro, while a pre-roll video will feature across MSN Messenger online game loading screens.
Domino’s sales and marketing director Simon Wallis commented: “Gamers are a key target audience and the ability to order without interrupting gameplay is a pioneering sales initiative.”
The campaign, created by Arena Media, runs until the end of March.
