Falkirk Council’s Binnie elected new CIPR Scotland chair

The CIPR Scotland AGM took place last night in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket, with Falkirk Council head of communications Caroline Binnie being elected as the organisation’s new chair.

Binnie succeeds Emma Diamond of Smarts communications agency in the role, while Louise Nicolson of Bread PR has taken over as vice chair, replacing Aura PR’s Laura Sutherland.

Elaine McKean of Fleishman Hillard was appointed secretary and Sarah O’Loughlin of Transport Scotland continues as treasurer.

New committee members include Cran Communications’ Christina Cran, Cristina Dello Sterpaio of the Scottish Social Services Council, Nicki Sturzaker of the BIG Partnership, Ruth Macleod of Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service, Grant Thoms of Scottish Renewables, Joe Walton of Real PR, and freelancer Iain Fleming.

Existing committee members staying on are Stewart Argo of the City of Edinburgh Council, Neil Jones of Cairnstone Communications, Scott Douglas of Holyrood PR and Aislinn Lunt of NHS Lothian.
