A Taiwanese web sites is reporting that Apple has three potential candidates for its next generation of iPhone.tw.apple.pro has a reputation for getting accurate scoops so the story is creating a bit of a frenzy in the geek community.

Their story, based on parts they have seen, predicts that one option for the iPhone 5 will have some kind of slide out keyboard.

This rumour has been greeted with some scorn by commentators as Steve Jobs and the Apple team who have built something resembling a religious cult around the touch-screen keyboard.

Another possibility is that the new range could offer Mini or Nano options. Again this is deemed unlikely by many in the know.

The third option seems the most likely. An incremental improvement which will see developments like a better camera, processor and battery life.

We can hardly wait.

Apple are attempting to close off the leak. By the time The Drum visited the site a YouTube video showing the components had been taken down on the grounds of copyright.
